ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Apparatus for impregnating flat corrugated paperboard articles with molten wax. A rotary drum enclosed within a horizontal cylindrical housing rotates about a horizontal axis and comprises circumferentially spaced holders which hold the articles to be treated such that they radiate outwardly from a hub of the drum. A curtain coater extends horizontally through the drum to produce a falling curtain of molten wax through which the articles pass successively as they move around the lower part of the housing so as to be successively coated with wax. The coated articles are transported around the upper part of the housing in an inverted condition and are there subjected to jolting action to promote drainage of excess wax. The coated articles are removed from the drum after passing around the upper part of the housing and are replaced continuously by new articles for treatment. -1-
