ABSTRACT A curtainsided van body has a roof vertically movably supported at either end above a floor to define at least one open side closable by a curtain, which side has between the roof and floor and intermediate its front and rear end, at least one supporting pillar mounted for swinging movement outboard of the van body, which pillar is vertically extensible to raise the roof relative to the floor thereby increasing the height of the cargo-accommodating space of the van body. The van body preferably has two opposed open sides with a plurality of longitudinally-spaced extensible swinging pillars at each side.
