ABSTRACT A pillow has traditionally been employed as a head and neck support providing relative comfort in the alignment of the cervical spine while lying on one's back, side or other prone position while resting or sleeping. Improvements to pillow configurations and structure have concentrated on the head and neck support aspect of a pillow's function. The psychological nurturing function of pillows has been neglected. The CUSH CUSH SLEEP CENTRING PILLOW embodies the discovery that a pillow functions as a surrogate mother enabling the subject to attain an unconscious infant-like mental state necessary for a stress-free sleep preparedness. The CUSH CUSH SLEEP CENTRING PILLOW creates this effect by cradling a subject's head, neck and shoulder areas enhancing the sensation of security and well being. This is attained by the pillow's unique contours owing to its cleft surface and deeply concave neck support fascia. This configuration composed of suitable pliable material embraces the subject's upper body in a natural stress relieving manner while offering maximum head, neck and shoulder comfort.
