A system and method for manufacturing a custom prosthetic liner. The system may include a shape capture device for capturing the shape of a residual limb (15). The captured shape may be used to generate a 3-dimensional electronic liner model (45) using a processor and specialized software. A 3~dimensional electronic model of the residual limb (20) may also be produced. Preferably, an interface is provided that allows a user of the system to alter the shape and/or size of the 3-dimensional model(s) to allow the subsequently-produced liner to accommodate particular features of the residual limb. Data associated with at least the resulting 3-dimensional liner model is provided to a manufacturing facility (50) equipped to produce a custom liner therefrom. The data may be remotely transmitted to the manufacturing facility. A positive likeness of the residual limb and/or the interior of the liner is created from the data associated with the 3-dimensional model(s) (55), and is subsequently used as a mold core in the liner molding process (75).
L'invention concerne un système et un procédé destinés à fabriquer une garniture prothétique personnalisée. Ce système peut comprendre un dispositif de capture de forme destiné à capturer la forme d'un moignon. La forme capturée peut être utilisée pour produire un modèle de garniture électronique tridimensionnel au moyen d'un processeur et d'un logiciel spécialisé. Un modèle électronique tridimensionnel du moignon peut également être produit. De préférence, on utilise une interface permettant à un utilisateur du système de modifier la forme et/ou la taille du ou des modèles tridimensionnels de sorte que la garniture produite subséquemment puisse être adaptée aux caractéristiques du moignon. Des données associées au moins au modèle de garniture tridimensionnel résultant sont fournies à une installation de fabrication équipée pour la production d'une garniture personnalisée à partir de ces données. Les données peuvent être transmises à distance à l'installation de fabrication. Une simulation positive du moignon et/ou de l'intérieur de la garniture est créée à partir des données associées au(x) modèle(s) tridimensionnel(s), puis utilisée comme noyau de moule dans l'opération de moulage de garniture.
