The Customer Service Impact Reporting scheme establishes an overall measure of how well information technology systems are performing from the customers' perspective of the provision of customer services, instead of just a system-by-system tracking of system outages. This scheme uses forecasts of the customer demand for various services for a given period, actual systems outage data, and a known relationship between systems and customer services to estimate the number of customers affected by system outages.
