A method for obtaining diagnostic information about a region of a living being, the region having a medical device with a radiopaque portion disposed therein. An X-ray beam having a first energy level in excess of the K- absorption edge of the radiopaque portion of the medical device is directed at the region to obtain a first image information and radiographically locate the medical device within the living being and an X-ray beam having second energy level at or below the K-absorption edge is applied to the region to obtain a second image information.

L'invention concerne un procédé permettant d'obtenir des informations de diagnostic sur une région d'un être vivant, ladite région étant équipée d'un dispositif médical doté d'une partie radioopaque. Un faisceau de rayon X présentant un premier niveau d'énergie excédentaire du bord d'absorption K de la partie radioopaque du dispositif médical est orienté au niveau de la région afin d'obtenir une première information d'image et de localiser radiographiquement le dispositif médical dans l'être vivant, et un faisceau de rayon X présentant un second niveau d'énergie au niveau du bord d'absorption K ou en-dessous de celui-ci est appliqué à la région afin d'obtenir une seconde information d'image.
