The present invention alleviates pain and discomfort from a limb of a patient by redistributing pressure on the limb. The present invention involves an orthopedic device (10) for redistribution of pressure exerted on a limb of a patient. The device comprises a pressure-absorbing member (13) and a breakable container (23) disposed in the pressure absorbing member. The pressure absorbing member is contoured to cooperate with the shape of the limb. The pressure absorbing member has a pressure receiving cavity formed therein. The breakable container is disposed in the pressure receiving cavity and includes a reactant molding material. The breakable container has a predetermined elastic threshold to allow the breakable container to break at a high pressure area and to allow the reactant molding material to disperse from the high pressure area upon pressure exertion on the breakable container by the limb.
La présente invention permet d'éliminer la douleur et la gêne ressentie sur un membre par répartition de la pression sur le membre. La présente invention concerne un dispositif orthopédique (10) destiné à répartir la pression exercée sur un membre d'un patient. Ledit dispositif comporte un élément (13) absorbant la pression et un contenant cassant (23) disposé dans l'élément absorbant la pression. L'élément absorbant la pression est formé de manière à correspondre à la forme du membre, et contient une cavité de réception de pression. Le contenant cassant est disposé dans la cavité de réception de pression et contient un matériau de moulage réactif. Le contenant cassant présente un seuil élastique prédéterminé de manière que ledit contenant casse dans une zone de pression élevée et que le matériau de moulage réactif se disperse à partir de la zone de pression élevée en cas d'application de pression sur le contenant cassant par le membre.
