ABSTRACT In a bicycle steering head it is known to have a steering tube which runs through a head tube with a steering stem attached above the head tube and a fork or triple clamp attached below the head tube. In this invention the front portion of the head tube has been cut away to allow the steering stem and tripleclamp to pass through the head tube. Raising the triple clamp and bottom of the head tube up without raising the relative location of the handle bars allowsthis invention to create 3 inches of extra clearance fro travel in suspension forks for mountain bikes. The cutaway head set will have thrust bearings to allow complete freedom of steering movement through over 110° from lock to lock.
