A tile cutter comprises a moulded body (10) defining a work surface, and a cutting wheel (13) for cutting a tile positioned on the work surface, the body having respective lips (22) at opposite sides thereof, and there being a guide fence (18) adjustably slidable over the work surface, the guide fence having alignment arms (19, 20) at its opposite end respectively, which arms have respective parts fitting under the lips so as to maintain the guide fence parallel to the cutting wheel in any adjusted position at which the guide fence can be locked in place. The cutting wheel (13) is shrouded by a spray guard (14) which is adjustably carried on a riving blade (15), access to a bolt head of the arrangement fixing the spray guard to the blade (15) normally being prevented by means of a snap-fitted clip (32), with adjustment of the spray guard being permitted by a clamping knob (27). A sludge tray (32) is removably fitted in a fluid reservoir of the body (10).
