ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A cutting/clamping sleeve contact is disclosed for contacting a cable wire laterally to the sleeve axis. The sleeve contact is provided with at least one clamping slot at the periphery of the sleeve and with a cutting/clamping contact in the interior of the sleeve, In order to provide a one-piece sleeve contact suitable for contacting cable wires of varying diameters and stranded conductors, wall pieces are cut free at the wall of the sleeve, which is made of metal, and are bent into the interior of the sleeve as contact legs for forming the cutting/clamping contact.
