TITLE OF THE INVENTION CUTTING INSERT ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Disclosed according to the invention is an indexable and invertable cutting insert. The cutting insert comprises a body having a top surface, a bottom surface and a peripheral wall joining the top and bottom surfaces. The insert further comprises at least two angularly related and joined cutting edges formed at the juncture of the peripheral wall with one of the top and bottom surfaces. One of the top and bottom surfaces has a positive rake surface adjoining the cutting edge. This positive rake surface forms a positive rake angle at the cutting edge which continuously increases as the positive rake surface extends inwardly from the cutting edge.
