A B S T R A C T A chain saw quard has a casing (10) for locating a main body port of a chain saw. From one end wall (20) of the casing (10) there extends a closed housing (28) profiled to receive a blade part of the saw. A lever clamp (30) is associated with the blade within the housing (28) by means of a clamping pad locating through an opening (42) and engaging the saw blade against an internal abutment pad. On one side wall (15) of the casing (10) there is provided ducting (18) wherein is mounted an electric fan (58) to withdraw exhaust gases from the chain saw for direction as required to a remote location. Running of the chain saw for Lesting purposes after servicing or repair can be carried out in total safety.
