Method, system and apparatus for carrying out accurate electrosurgical cutting. A thin resilient electrode (54) is utilized at the forward end region (50) of an instrument which is deployable from a longitudinally disposed slot positioned rearwardly from the tip of the instrument. Lateral sides of the slot extend between a forward location adjacent the tip and a rearward location. The electrode is deployed by urging it forwardly in compression to form an arch profile supported by the abutting slot sides. Electrosurgically excitable with a cutting output, the electrode may carry out a cutting action both during its deployment and retraction into the noted slot. This permits a pivoting maneuver effective for circumscribing a volume of targeted tissue.

La présente invention concerne un procédé, un système et un appareil permettant de réaliser des découpes électrochirurgicales précises. On utilise une fine électrode résiliente (54) à l'extrémité antérieure (50) d'un instrument capable de se déployer depuis une fente longitudinale postérieure à la pointe de l'instrument. Les bords latéraux de la fente vont d'une position antérieure proche de la pointe à une position postérieure. Pour déployer l'électrode, on agit sur elle en compression vers l'avant de façon à former un profil en arc reposant à bouts touchants sur les bords de la fente. Cette électrode, qui s'excite électrochirurgicalement sous l'effet de la sortie de découpe, est capable de mener une action de découpe aussi bien pendant son déploiement que pendant son retrait dans la fente considérée. Cela permet une manoeuvre pivotante intéressante pour circonscrire un volume de tissu visé.
