-1- Abstract: The invention provides a cutting tool and holder combination including a cylindrical tool having a cutting edge in at least one of its ends and at least one annular guide groove around its periphery. The tool holder includes a part-cylindrical recess in a tool carrier and a clamping device connected to the tool carrier. The clamping device includes a part-cylindrical surface adapted to be pressed towards the part-cylindrical recess, thereby clamping the tool between this surface and recess. The recess includes at least one part-annular guide ridge corresponding to the annular guide groove of the tool. Axial displacement of the tool is prevented by engagement of the ridge in the groove. Rotation of the tool may take place upon untightening of the clamping device.
