A cutting tool assembly comprising an elongated tool shank (1) having a shank holding portion (8) and an exchangeable adaptor (2) having an insert retaining portion for retaining a replaceable cutting insert (3) and an adaptor mounting portion (42) releasably secured to the shank holding portion (8) by two clamping screws (4). The clamping screws (4) are inserted into the respective adaptor mounting portion through bores (53, 54) and threaded bores (22, 23). The threaded bores (22, 23) being substantially aligned with the respective adaptor through bores (53, 54) in a reference plane through an axis of relative rotation of a workpiece with respect to the tool assembly. One of the adaptor mounting (42) and shank holding portions (8) is formed with a recess and the other one is formed with a protrusion (10) mating with the recess and received therein.

L'invention concerne un ensemble outil coupant comportant une queue allongée (1) présentant une partie porte-queue (8) et un adaptateur interchangeable (2) possédant une partie destinée à retenir une plaquette de coupe remplaçable (3), et une partie de fixation (42) de l'adaptateur assujettie de manière libérable à la partie porte-queue (8) par deux vis de serrage (4). Ces dernières s'insèrent dans la partie respective de fixation de l'adaptateur, par des perçages débouchants (53, 54) et par des perçages taraudés (22, 23), ces perçages taraudés (22, 23) étant sensiblement alignés avec les perçages débouchants (53, 54) de l'adaptateur respectif dans un plan de référence passant par un axe de rotation relative d'une pièce par rapport à l'ensemble outil. Une des parties de fixation (42) de l'adaptateur et porte-queue (8) est pourvue d'un évidement et l'autre est pourvue d'un saillant (10) se conjuguant avec l'évidement dans lequel il vient se loger.
