ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A cutting tool has a plurality of cutting teeth. An electric voltage is applied between adjacent teeth so that a localized heating of the workpiece occurs at and around the cutting tips, in order to facilitate the cutting step. The volltage may be varied in such manner as to prevent or induce non linear cutting.
