Cyanoiminoquinoxaline derivatives represented by general formula (II), which are useful as preventive or therapeutic agents for diseases due to hyperexcitation of glutamate receptors wherein X and Y are each independently O or NCN, provided at least either of X and Y is NCN; R1, R2, R3 and R4 are each independently hydrogen, halogeno, nitro, an optionally substituted heterocyclic group or the like; and R5 is hydrogen or the like, or alternatively R1 and R2, R2 and R3, R3 and R4, and R4 and R5 each together with the atoms adjacent thereto may form a carbocycle which may be substituted or contain a heteroatom.

L'invention concerne des dérivés de cyanoiminoquinoxaline représentés par la formule générale (II), utiles comme agents préventifs et thérapeutiques vis-à-vis des maladies dues à l'hyperexcitation des récepteurs de glutamate. Dans ladite formule, X et Y sont chacun indépendamment O ou NCN, à condition qu'au moins X ou Y soit NCN; R?1¿, R?2¿, R?3¿ et R?4¿ sont chacun indépendamment hydrogène, halogéno, nitro, un groupe hétérocyclique éventuellement substitué ou autre; et R?5¿ est hydrogène ou autre, ou bien encore R?1¿ et R?2¿, R?2¿ et R?3¿, R?3¿ et R?4¿, et R?4¿ et R?5¿, chacun avec les atomes qui leurs sont adjacents, peuvent former un carbocyclique susceptible d'être substitué ou pouvant contenir un hétéroatome.
