ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Apparatus and method for use in a multi-mode copier/duplicator for delaying mode changes in respone to operator commands to permit vital copier/duplicator functions to be continued without interruption for the copy in process. In particular, mode changing logic enables mode changes only after vital photocopy processes are completed thus preventing undesirable running conditions.
