The present invention provides novel cyclic amide derivatives having activity for protecting against the ultraviolet rays, activity for scavenging active oxygen species and activity for inhibiting the formation of lipid peroxides, which is represented by general formula (1), wherein R2 is a hydroxyl group, a lower alkenyloxy group, a phenyl-lower alkenyloxy group, a cycloalkenyloxy group, a tetrahydropyranyloxy group, a pyridyloxy group, or a lower alkanoyloxy group which may have carboxyl group(s); R3 is a lower alkenyl group; Z is an oxygen atom, a sulfur atom, a group of -CH2- or a group of - CH=CH-; <u>n</u> is an integer of 1 to 3; <u>m</u> is 0 or 1.

La présente invention concerne de nouveaux dérivés amides cycliques qui sont efficaces pour protéger contre les rayons ultraviolets, pour détruire les formes actives de l'oxygène et pour inhiber la formation de peroxydes de lipides. Ces dérivés sont représentés par la formule (I). Dans cette formule, R?2¿ est un groupe hydroxyle, un groupe alcényloxy inférieur, un groupe phénylalcényloxy inférieur, un groupe cycloalcényloxy, un groupe tétrahydropyranyloxy, un groupe pyridyloxy ou un groupe alcanoyloxy inférieur, pouvant avoir un ou des groupes carboxyle; R?3¿ est un groupe alcényle inférieur; Z est un atome d'oxygène, un atome de soufre, un groupe -CH¿2?- ou un groupe -CH=CH-; <u>n</u> est un nombre entier compris entre 1 et 3; <u>m</u> est égal à 0 ou 1.
