ABREGE DESCRIPTIF Les minerais sulfurés ou les concentrés ou les sulfures synthétiques contenant comme métaux principaux le nickel, le cuivre et le cobalt sont lixiviés par une solution d'acides ni- trique et sulfurique à pression atmosphérique et à basse tempé- rature. On obtient alors un taux d'extraction élevé de ces métaux sous forme de sulfates solubles ainsi que des métaux se- condaires avec le soufre élémentaire et les métaux nobles. Le procédé comprend également de préférence un stade de recupéra- tion et de recyclage des réactifs, ce qui favorise une économie de l'opération tout en évitant la pollution de l'environnement.
