Conjugates containing these cyclic peptides are useful for raising mammalian anti-peptide, anti-HIV, or HIV-neutralizing immune responses, and a composition containing such a conjugate may be used as a vaccine to prevent HIV disease, including Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome, (AIDS), or AIDS related complex, (ARC), or as an immunogen for treating humans afflicted with AIDS or ARC.
