ABSTRACT Certain substituted cycloalkenochromones and pharma- cologically acceptable salts thereof are disclosed as being useful in the treatment of allergies. The compounds have the structure: Image X is -O-, -S-, or -SO2. Y is from 1 to 4. R1 is H or alkyl, and R2 is H, alkyl, aryl, carboxyl, alkoxy, aralkoxy, or alkoxycarbonyl. When R1 is alkyl, R2 is hydrogen, alkyl or aryl. At least one of R2 and R3 is alkoxycarbonyl, carboxyl or tetrszolyl. R3 is carboxyl, alkylthio, alkyl- sulfonyl, alkylsulfinyl, alkoxycarbonyl, or tetrazolyl.
