Abstract The present invention relates to cyclophanes of general formula Image (I) wherein X1, X2, A, R and R1 to R4 are defined as in claim 1, the enantiomers, diastereomers and addition salts thereof and, more particularly, for pharmaceutical use, the physiologically acceptable addition salts thereof, which have valuable properties, especially valuable pharmacological properties such as the effect of lowering blood pressure and dilating the coronary blood vessels and a mild heart rate lowering activity, pharmaceutical compositions which contain these compounds and processes for preparing them.
