ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Cyclopropane derivatives of the general formula: Image (I) wherein R1 and R2 are the same or different and each represent a hydrogen atom or a group of formula: Image (II) wherein R3 represents an alkyl group containing 1 to 6 carbon atoms, with the proviso that at least one of R1 and R2 is a group of the formula (II), X represents a hydrogen or halogen atom, a hydroxyl group or an amino group, and Y represents a hydrogen atom, a hydroxyl group or an amino group, and their pharmaceutically acceptable salts have antiviral activity as well as improved water solubility and oral absorbability.
