A cylinder block for an integral gas compressor and internal combustion engine. The cylinder block has a bank of compressor cylinders and a bank of engine cylinders, such as in a V-shaped configuration. Valve train openings are machined into the cylinder block adjacent to the engine cylinders so that engine valve train components, such as push rods, may be disposed therein. No valve train openings are machined into the cylinder block adjacent to the compressor cylinders; the block is left solid. A compressor utilizing the cylinder block is also disclosed.

L'invention concerne un bloc cylindre pour un compresseur de gaz monté solidaire avec un moteur à combustion interne. Le bloc cylindre comprend une rangée de cylindres de compression et une rangée de cylindres du moteur formant une configuration en V. Des ouvertures pour des dispositifs de commande de soupape sont ménagées dans le bloc cylindre adjacent aux cylindres du moteur de façon que des composants de commande de soupape du moteur, de type tiges poussoirs, puissent y être disposées. Aucune ouverture pour des dispositifs de commande de soupape n'est ménagée dans le bloc cylindre adjacent aux cylindres de compression, le bloc étant maintenu à l'état solide.
