ABSTRACT A cylinder for the printing treatment of fabric webs, having a rigid cylinder core and a tubular cylinder jacket applied thereon made of rubber or rubber-like plastics material and having reinforcing plies embedded therein, in which the reinforcing plies are provided with a monofilament wire coil extending through the whole length of the cylinder jacket and made of a metallic material or a highly tensile plastics material and two plies located in the radial direction above and below the wire coil formed of filament-like rectilinear reinforcing members extending in axial or substantially axial direction over the whole length of the cylinder jacket spaced mutually parallel to one another and distributed over the cylinder circumference.
