19 ABSTRACT Cylinder head/cylinder sealing device for a reciprocating pressurized gas machine. In a sealing device between a cylinder head (1) and a cylinder (2), formed by a removable thin cylindrical liner (7) sleeved into a bore provided in a cylinder block (4), when the cylinder head rests on the upper surface of the liner, before the cylinder head is clamped down, there remains between the cylinder head and the cylinder block an excess height (h) such that when the cylinder head is clamped down none of the materials of the cylinder head, the cylinder block or the liner, when compressed axially, reaches the limit of elastic deformation with a bearing force greater, given the thickness (e) of the liner (7), than the maximum force exerted by the gas pressure on the cylinder head (1) but sufficiently high for contact between the liner (7) and the cylinder head (1) to be maintained at all times during operation of the machine. .
