A cylinder head gasket with a sensor for the pressure in the cylinders of an internal combustion engine is described. Here, it is suggested that an inductive odometer (8) be installed in an opening in the cylinder head gasket (5) to measure cylinder pressure that lies between the surface areas of the engine block (10) that face each other and the cylinder head (11) after the cylinder head gasket (5) is installed and is designed to generate a signal for the distance between the engine block (10) and the cylinder head (11), which changes as the pressure in the cylinder changes when the engine is running.
