PRECIS DE LA DIVULGATION: L'invention a pour objet un cylindre à frette tournante comprenant, entre un arbre fixe en forme de poutre allongée et une frette tournante montée rotative autour d'un axe sur l'arbre, une ligne de patins de maintien à palier fluide. Selon l'invention, le cylindre est équipé d'au moins un organe de captage d'au moins une partie du fluide lubrifiant s'échappant des patins de maintien, l'organe étant appliqué contre la paroi interne de l'enveloppe pour former avec celle-ci une zone de récupération ouverte dans le sens inverse de rotation de la frette, la zone étant reliée à un circuit d'évacuation du fluide récupéré.
