The present invention concerns an electromechanical transducer exhibiting a configuration of the cylindrical type and adapted in particular to serve as a stepping motor. In a three-phase embodiment, the transducer according to the invention comprises a stator (2) and a rotor (4) capable of turning around a rotation axis (5). The stator (2) comprises three pole pieces (8, 10, 12) each having a polar arm (14, 16, 18) oriented in the direction of the rotation axis of the rotor and bearing an energization winding (32, 34, 36).
