In a cylindrical steam reformer wherein a honeycomb reforming catalyst is disposed in a clearance between an inner cylinder and an outer cylinder, making up a double cylinder, the cylindrical steam reformer is capable of improving thermal conductivity from the inner cylinder and the outer cylinder to the reforming catalyst. The cylindrical steam reformer is fabricated by a process comprising the steps of (a) forming a unit element comprised of the inner cylinder, the outer cylinder, and the honeycomb base member wherein a plurality of zigzag metal plates, and a plurality of planar metal plates are alternately disposed such that the planar metal plate is positioned on an outer wall surface of the inner cylinder, and an inner wall surface of the outer cylinder, respectively, between the inner cylinder and the outer cylinder, (b) forming the honeycomb base member by applying a brazing process using a brazing metal to a contact region between the outer wall surface of the inner cylinder, and the planar metal plate, inside the unit element, contact regions between the planar metal plates, and the zigzag metal plates, alternately disposed, and a contact region between the planar metal plate, and the inner wall surface of the outer cylinder; and (c) causing the reforming catalyst to be supported on a surface of the planar metal plate, adjacent to the outer wall surface of the inner cylinder, surfaces of the respective zigzag metal plates, surfaces of the respective planar metal plates, a surface of the planar metal plate, adjacent to the inner wall surface of the outer cylinder, those plates making up the honeycomb base member.
L'invention porte sur un reformeur à vapeur cylindrique qui a un cylindre interne et un cylindre externe (double cylindre) et qui est pourvu d'un catalyseur de reformage en nid d'abeille disposé dans l'intervalle entre les cylindres interne et externe, l'efficacité de transfert thermique des cylindres interne et externe vers le catalyseur de reformage étant amélioré. Un élément unitaire est formé qui consiste en un cylindre interne, un cylindre externe et un matériau de base en nid d'abeille dans lequel une pluralité d'éléments de plaques en zigzag métalliques et une pluralité d'éléments de plaques planes métalliques sont agencés de façon alternée entre les cylindres interne et externe de telle sorte qu'un élément de plaque plane métallique est positionné au niveau de la surface de paroi externe du cylindre interne et un autre élément de plaque plane métallique au niveau de la surface de paroi interne du cylindre externe. La partie de contact de la surface de paroi externe du cylindre interne et de l'élément de plaque plane métallique, les parties de contact des éléments de plaques planes métalliques et des éléments de plaques en zigzag métalliques agencés de façon alternée, et la partie de contact de l'élément de plaque plane métallique et de la surface de paroi interne du cylindre externe sont brasées conjointement dans l'élément unitaire pour former un matériau de base en nid d'abeille. Le reformeur à vapeur cylindrique comporte un catalyseur de reformage porté sur la surface de l'élément de plaque plane métallique sur le côté de surface de paroi externe du cylindre interne, sur la surface de chaque élément de plaque en zigzag métallique, sur la surface de chaque élément de plaque plane métallique et sur la surface de l'élément de plaque plane métallique sur le côté de surface de paroi interne du cylindre externe qui constituent le matériau de base en nid d'abeille.
