The invention relates to compounds for use in the treatment of allergic diseases including juvenile asthma and eczema. The compounds can inhibit IgE mediated reaction to major environmental and occupational allergens. They can also have a prophylactic effect against allergic disease by preventing allergic sensitisation to environmental and occupational antigens when administered to at-risk individuals (e.g. those at genetic risk of asthma, and those exposed to occupational allergens in the workplace). The compounds of the invention can also be useful for inactivation or attenuation of the allergenicity of allergens in situ. The invention provides novel compounds and ligands per se, pharmaceutical compositions containing the compounds, processes for producing the compounds and pharmaceutical compositions, and methods for using the compounds and compositions in treatment or prophylaxis of IgE mediated allergic diseases and in inactivation or attenuation of allergens in situ. The invention also provides means for the reducing or destroying the viability of allergy-causing organisms.
Cette invention porte sur des composés destinés au traitement de maladies allergiques dont l'asthme et l'eczéma juvéniles, susceptibles d'inhiber une réaction induite par l'IgE à des allergènes majeurs d'ordre mésologique et professionnel. Administrés à des individus à risque (personnes enclines génétiquement à l'asthme ou exposées à des allergènes d'ordre professionnel sur leur lieu de travail), ils peuvent également avoir une activité prophylactique à l'encontre de maladies allergiques par une prévention de la sensibilisation allergique à des antigènes d'ordre mésologique et professionnel. Les composés selon l'invention peuvent également se révéler utiles pour inactiver ou atténuer le pouvoir allergisant d'allergènes in situ. Cette invention a trait à de nouveaux composés, à des procédés de production de composés et de compositions pharmaceutiques ainsi qu'à leur application pour le traitement ou la prophylaxie de maladies allergiques induites par l'IgE ainsi que pour l'inactivation ou l'atténuation d'allergènes in situ. Elle porte, en outre, sur des moyens de diminution ou de suppression de la viabilité d'organismes responsables d'allergies.
