The present invention involves cytoplasmic male sterile Brassica oleracea plants that contain polima CMS cytoplasm. The plants remain sterile at high temperatures. The Brassica oleracea plants of the present invention can be prepared by traditional breeding techniques. Different Brassica types can then be produced using these plants by employing traditional breeding techniques or by protoplast fusion.
L'invention concerne des plants de Brassica oleracea à stérilité mâle cytoplasmique qui contiennent le cytoplasme CMS polima. Les plants restent stériles à des températures élevées. On peut préparer les plants de Brassica oleracea conformes à l'invention par les techniques de sélection traditionnelles. On peut produire ensuite différents types de Brassica à l'aide de ces plants par les techniques de sélection traditionnelles ou par fusion de protoplastes.
