Abstract of the Disclosure According to the invention, the angle through which a d.c. motor rotates is determined by two position-sensors. The outputs of the position- sensors are connected with a control circuit, to which is also passed a correction signal determining the direction of rotation of the motor. The control circuit produces control signals which are passed to the motor drive arrangement of the d.c. motor. For accomplishing the rotation of the motor from a first position to a second position, the motor drive arrangement produces first an acceleration current, then a deceleration current and, when the motor has arrived in the range of the position-sensors, a correcting current in either one direction or the other. The motor is placed in the desired position with the aid of the correcting current and the motor is then switched off. In case the motor should stray from the desired position, it may be returned to that position by once more switching on the correcting current for the required direction. The position-sensors comprise a timing disc having an aperture and two light sensors, adapted to be either interrupted or not interrupted by the sides of the aperture. The invention is useful in non-mechanical printers, e.g. for controlling the movement of pivoting roller between two positions.
