D.C. VOLTAGE REGULATOR ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A circuit for the production of a desired A.C. output voltage from an input direct voltage. A series connection comprises a longitudinal regulating member, an inductor and an inverter which produces the output voltage. The input voltage is fed to the inverter which includes a push-pull transformer having a push-pull primary winding and a secondary winding. In addition, the inverter includes switching transistors which are switched on and off by a control circuit. The control circuit delivers a suitable cyclical changing control signal to the switching transistors. Circuitry is provided for minimizing if not eliminating spikes in the current occurring during a switching of the switching transistors. As a result, the switching transistors remain free from excessive voltages which can damage same. This circuitry includes a diode in parallel with the inverter and the inductor. In addition a series connection of an impedance coil and a capacitor is connected in parallel with the inverter, and a pair of further diodes is symmetrically connected on one side across the push-pull transformer and on the other side to each other and to a connecting point between the impedance coil and the capacitor whereby voltages derived symmetrically from the push-pull transformer are conducted through at least one of the pair of diodes to the capacitor. - 1 -
