A B S T R A C T New D-xylofuranose derivatives having the general formulae (I) and (II) Image (I) Image (II) wherein R1 stands for a C1-4 aliphatic group, and R2 stands for a benzyl group optionally substituted on the side chain. Process for the preparation of the compounds having the general formulae (I) and (II), respectively. These com- pounds ameliorate the pathological processes of venous diseases, and have an outstanding anti-inflammatory effect.
