An implantable sensor/stimulator is connectable to a controller using just two conductors, which two conductors carry both operating power and data (data commands and/or measured data) between the sensor/stimulator and control circuit. Each sensor/stimulator may be serially connected to another sensor/stimulator, again using only two conductors, thereby allowing a "daisy chain" of such sensors/stimulators to be formed. Each sensor/stimulator in the daisy chain is individually addressable by the control circuit. Input data is sent to the sensors over the two conductors using a phase-modulated biphasic modulation scheme, which scheme also provides operating power for each sensor/stimulator connected to the two conductors. Output data is sent from the sensors to the controller over the same two conductors using a pulse-position presence/absence modulation scheme. The data transmisssion schemes provide a very high signal-to-noise ratio. Each sensor/stimulator includes a power rectifier circuit, a line interface circuit, a state machine controller, at least one sensor that generates an analog output current as a function of a sensed parameter, a low power current-to-frequency converter circuit, and a counter circuit.
L'invention concerne un capteur/stimulateur pouvant être connecté à une unité de commande utilisant seulement deux conducteurs, ces conducteurs transportant à la fois l'énergie d'opération et les données (commandes de données et/ou données mesurées) entre le capteur/stimulateur et le circuit de commande. Chaque capteur/stimulateur peut être connecté en série à un autre capteur/stimulateur, en utilisant à nouveau seulement deux conducteurs, ce qui permet de former une "guirlande" de ces capteurs/stimulateurs. Chaque capteur/stimulateur de la guirlande est adressable individuellement par le circuit de commande. Les données d'entrée sont envoyées au capteur via les deux conducteurs, au moyen d'un système de modulation biphasé en modulation de phase, ce système fournissant également l'énergie d'opération pour chaque capteur/stimulateur connecté aux deux conducteurs. Les données de sortie sont envoyées des capteurs vers l'unité de commande via les deux mêmes conducteurs au moyen d'un système de modulation à présence/absence d'impulsion en position. Les systèmes de transmission de données présentent un rapport signal/bruit très élevé. Chaque capteur/stimulateur comprend un circuit redresseur de puissance, un circuit d'interface de ligne, une commande d'automate fini, au moins un capteur qui produit un courant de sortie analogique en tant que fonction d'un paramètre détecté, un circuit de conversion de courant faible puissance en fréquence et un circuit de comptage.
