ABSTRACT The invention relates to a dampening/inking unit for an offset printing machine comprising several applicator rollers assigned to a plate cylinder, said applicator rollers being brought into a first and a second working position in order to prevent an accumulation of dampening medium, when using narrow printing- carrier webs or when processing small paper formats, which would bring about an emulsion of the dampening medium in the ink.
