A damper mechanism comprises a cylinder, a movable shaft and a movable valve, the movable valve is disposed along the movable shaft and swingable on the outer peripheral surface of the movable shaft, the movable shaft is inserted into the cylinder with the movable valve and rotatable relative to said cylinder, the front end of the movable valve is disposed vis-a-vis the inner peripheral surface of the cylinder and capable of detachably contacting the cylinder to form a nonreturn valve realized by utilizing the movable valve and disposed between the inner peripheral surface of the cylinder and the outer peripheral surface of the movable shaft, a partitioning member is disposed between the inner peripheral surface of the cylinder and the outer peripheral surface of the movable shaft and longitudinally disposed therebetween, the inner space of the cylinder is capable of being divided by the nonreturn valve and the partitioning member into a plurality of chambers having volumes variable relative to each other and held in communication with each other by way of an oil passage bored through the boundary of the chambers, and the variable volume chambers are filled with functional oil.
