ABSTRACT A dart used to actuate plugs in stage cementing of wells being drilled into the earth. The dart provides a wiping action to clean the interior walls of the casing string of extraneous cement slurry before actuating said plugs prior to the next lower stage of the casing string. The dart adapted to enter the bore of a hollow plug to block the further flow of liquid through the bore.
