A halftone image original is converted into a line screen halftone image comprising regularly spaced-apart screen lines 5 that are modulated in their width y in accordance with the tonal value to be represented. According to the invention, width y of screen lines 5 is modulated only on one side so that screen lines 5 are flat on one side and width-modulated on one side. Various examples are stated for how this screen line modulation permits effective copy protection.
L'invention concerne un support de données dans lequel un modèle d'image en demi-teintes est converti en image en demi-teintes à trame lignée, cette image étant constituée de lignes de trame (5) régulièrement espacées dont la largeur (y) est modulée d'après la densité à représenter. Selon l'invention, la largeur (y) des lignes de trame (5) est modulée uniquement d'un côté de sorte que lesdites lignes de trame (5) présentent un côté plat et un côté modulable en largeur. Différents modes de réalisation de l'invention illustrent à quel point cette modulation des lignes de trame permet d'obtenir une protection efficace contre la copie.
