A data carrier configuration is proposed comprising a card-like carrier (10) having a recess (20) and an electronic data carrier (30), which is removably mounted in the recess (20), in the form of an IC card (30), which has means (40) for fastening on an object, and methods for the production of such a configuration. While the carrier (10) is rigid, the IC card (30) is implemented as flexible, so that introduction into the recess (20) and removal from the recess (20) are possible via unrolling of the electronic data carrier (30). The fastening means (40) are implemented in the form of a self-adhesive layer, which is covered by a removable protective layer (48).
