INVENTORS: GERHARD KINDLER and RAY STANYARD INVENTION: DATA INPUT AND OUTPUT DEVICE FOR A DRIVE REGULATION APPARATUS OPERATED BY A DIGITAL COMPUTER ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE By means of this data input and output device the adjusting members of a drive regulation apparatus can be digitally controlled with elimination of digital/analog converters and the digital computer can be relieved of the computation of ignition times of thyristors of the adjusting members. For this purpose the adjusting magnitude is entered into a programmable multiple counter, the counters of which, associated with the individual phases of a three-phase supply, can be controlled by means of a synchronization device in such a way that the thyristors are always ignited at the same phase angle corresponding to the adjusting magnitude at any one time. Furthermore, the current actual values of a subordinate current regulation circuit can be computed and entered while eliminating current-and analog/digital-converters by being computed in dependence of stored constants of the excitation winding and the counter level of a counter associated with it of the programmable multiple counter. Input of the path and velocity actual values computed by means of digital tachometers takes place so that the associated counters are directly connected to a data bus by way of an interface, and at each input procedure the results of several readings of the counters are stored and the values relevant at any one time are determined by means of an evaluation program. - 2 -
