A novel fault-tolerance technique for protecting against and correcting errors in packet data stream flow, preferably through not exclusively with closed ring sequential address generators and the like, through the use of pairs of independent but linked packet data flow paths enabling discarding of error data occurring in one path and substituting therefor corresponding correct data from the other path to enable continuation of the data stream flow without interruption and without error.

La présente invention concerne une nouvelle technique à tolérance de faute permettant de se protéger contre les erreurs de flux de données en paquet et de corriger ces erreurs. On met en oeuvre à cet effet de préférence, notamment, des générateurs d'adresses séquentielles en boucles fermées, et analogues. Cela implique l'utilisation de paires de chemins de flux de données en paquets, chemins indépendants mais reliés. Ces paires de chemins permettent d'éliminer les données entachées d'erreurs dans un chemin et de leur substituer les données correctes correspondantes de l'autre chemin, de façon à permettre la poursuite du flux de trains de données, sans interruption ni erreur.
