A data recording/reproducing device has a stream attribute judging means (101) for judging whether or not an audio data stream supplied from outside is compressed one, as shown in the figure. A compression identification flag Fco having a value corresponding to the judgment result is added to the audio data stream, and the resultant stream is recorded in a stream recording section (100b). Therefore, after a compressed audio data stream supplied from outside is read out of the stream recording section, an electronic watermark can be inserted in the data stream. Hence, the time taken to write a compressed audio data stream in the stream recording section is short, and degradation of the quality of sound of the analog audio data generated by reproducing the data stream is prevented.

L'invention concerne un dispositif d'enregistrement/lecture de données comprenant des moyens (101) d'estimation d'un attribut de flux permettant de déterminer si un flux de données audio provenant de l'extérieur est comprimé ou non, comme l'illustre la figure. Une marque d'identification de compression Fco, dont une valeur correspond au résultat de l'estimation, est ajoutée au flux de données audio et le flux obtenu est enregistré dans une partie d'enregistrement de flux (100b). De ce fait, une fois que la partie d'enregistrement de flux a lu le flux de données audio comprimé provenant de l'extérieur, une filigrane électronique peut y être insérée. Désormais, l'écriture du flux de données audio comprimé dans la partie d'enregistrement de flux requiert peu de temps et on évite la dégradation de la qualité du son des données audio analogiques causée par la lecture du flux de données.
