A method and apparatus in a wireless communication network for providing and maintaining authentication credentials required for a common data application accessible through the wireless communication network. The wireless portable communication device has default authentication credentials for the common data application. When it receives a data session configuration file including authentication credentials based upon a predetermined condition, it prioritizes between the default authentication credentials and the received authentication credentials, and uses the authentication credentials with the higher priority. The wireless communication network maintains the current authentication credentials and transmits a data session configuration file having the current authentication credentials upon detecting a predetermined condition. The wireless communication network allows proper access to the common data application upon receiving the current authentication credentials.
Méthode et appareil pour réseau de communication sans fil servant à fournir et à conserver les justificatifs d'identité requis par une application de données communes accessible par un réseau de communication sans fil. Le dispositif de communication portable sans fil comprend des justificatifs d'identité par défaut pour l'application de données communes.
