ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A posting tray for containing file cards and having a rear follower plate and a front compressor plate. Longitudinally extending ratchet formations are provided in the bottom of the tray and the rear follower has a latch member engaging such form- ations as well as a resilient portion for urging the follower plate resiliently forward. A compressor plate is supported at the front of the tray for pivotal movement about a transverse axis approximately medially of the plate and means are provided for moving the pivotal support forwardly and rearwardly between release and compressing positions. In the compressing position the plate is free to adjust its attitude about the pivotal support to firmly compress the contents of the tray so that the contents, for example ledger cards, are maintained in normally rearwardly inclined positions.
