DATA STORAGE APPARATUS EMPLOYING A FLEXIBLE MAGNETIC DISK Abstract of the Disclosure The data storage apparatus employs a thin flexible disk having magnetic recording surfaces on both sides and disposed in a carrying envelope. The envelope has an elongate slot in both thicknesses to permit magnetic read/write heads on the two sides of the disk to make contact with the mag- netic disk surfaces. A pair of pressure pads are disposed on a first side of the envelope and are laterally spaced from the read/write head on that side for forcing the magnetic disk into contact with the read/write head on the second side of the disk. A similar pair of pads are disposed on the second side of the disk for forcing the disk against the read/write magnetic head on the first side of the disk.
