A data storage device for storing digital information in a readable form is described made up of one or more memory elements, each memory element comprising a planar magnetic conduit capable of sustaining and propagating a magnetic domain wall formed into a continuous propagation track. Each continuous track is provided with at least one and preferably a large number of inversion nodes whereat the magnetisation direction of a domain wall propagating along the conduit under action of a suitable applied field, such as a rotating magnetic field, is changed.
L'invention concerne un dispositif de données permettant de stocker des informations numériques sous forme lisible. Ce dispositif est constitué d'un ou de plusieurs éléments de mémoire, chaque élément de mémoire comprenant un conduit magnétique plan pouvant supporter et propager une paroi de domaine magnétique formée dans une piste de propagation continue. Chaque piste continue comprend au moins un noeud d'inversion et de préférence un grand nombre de noeuds d'inversion au niveau desquels la direction de magnétisation d'une paroi de domaine propagée le long du conduit sous l'action d'un champ appliqué approprié, tel qu'un champ magnétique de rotation, est modifiée.
