This support card including a plate-like body having a centering through hole and at least one data storage region with the data storage region extending concentric with the centering through hole. The data storage unit includes a mechanical interfacing member for engagement of the storage unit on a support card in the form of a flat support of standardized rectangular configuration. The flat support has a first face and a second face and a centrally-disposed through opening. A surface recess is formed in the first face for receiving the data storage unit. The data storage unit is reliably engaged on the flat support by means of a collar disposed close to a centering through hole of the storage unit. As a result, the central opening of the storage unit can be coupled, by forced fitting, with the through opening of the flat support.
